Similar to the pre-launch period of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, the team in Ubisoft Paris brought a select group of community members to the studio to gather critical feedback during the development process.
Ghost War was designed from the ground up with the community in mind. Istrate cautions that “all of these elements will make team play, communication, and strategic skills more crucial than ever.” “ To expand the tactical toolset, the team has added a new suppression system that affects your vision while you’re under heavy fire, and implemented new sound markers to help players locate their enemies’ position. “ Our objective with Ghost War was to build upon the main game’s elements of co-op teamplay and open, tactical gameplay,” said Lead Game Designer Lucian Istrate. As matches play out in all kinds of weather and at all times of day, players will have to marshal their knowledge of the Wildlands to help them claim victory. They will then take to the battlefield in open-environment maps, ranging from mountains and deserts to jungles and forests. Each class will have its own strengths, weaknesses, and dedicated perks, so players will have to consider their combat strategy and pick a team composition that supports their playstyle. These teams will choose from a roster of specialized classes, including Scout, Sniper, Tank, and more. In the new Ghost War mode, teams will fight to get a foothold in the country after the fall of the Santa Blanca Cartel.

You'll notice a nearby convoy once you spawn containing 5,000 resources. If you find yourself in need of resources to take your in-game skills to the next level, you can easily boost them by playing solo and spawning at the Villa Verde Alpha checkpoint. You can still go back and complete other missions you skipped over before or after defeating El Sueno to obtain their rewards.
It is also possible to immediately go directly to the El Sueno mission if another player already has the mission unlocked. This can make defeating the four cartel bosses a lot easier and faster, which will open up the final mission to El Sueno quicker. If your teammates start a mission that involves a cartel boss, you will receive credit for clearing it cartel overview, as well as all of the rewards related to that mission. Even if your solo game doesn't have the required missions completed to unlock it, you can still participate in missions and earn credit for completing them. To do this is simple, but requires other players to have missions you haven't unlocked yet.Ĭompleting missions together as a squad of 2 or more players will give you credit for missions on your Santa Blanca board. It is possible to skip most of the earlier missions in the game and reach the final mission for El Sueno, with a little help from some friends online.
